Adult schools are the economic engine for our state, putting skilled workers into key industries. Adult education programs are free of charge or offer grants and scholarships that easily cover the low fees. And these programs, taught by credentialed teachers, are identical to those at private schools, which cost tens of thousands of dollars. Adult education is also fast–with no need to take semesters and semesters of prerequisites: Some programs are just a few weeks long and graduates are immediately hired.
